The Tightrope Walker, also known as the Girl with the Parasol, is one of the characters from the Stretching Portraits.
The portrait of a pretty young brunette lady holding a parasol can be found in the Stretching Room. When the painting elongates, she is revealed to be balancing on a fraying tightrope just above the open jaws of an alligator.
Ghost Post Edit
In the story of the Ghost Post interactive game, her name is given as Sally Slater. She is "Chief Spookswoman" and "Membership Committee Chairghost" of the Committee of Wandering Ghosts. Her voice can be heard on the Phantom Radio app, frequently in conversation with the Organist, Herr Victor Geist. She seems to be a proactive member of the committee, trying to recruit more ghosts to the cause. The name "Sally Slater" first appeared in one of Prudence Pock's poems in the interactive queue installed at the Walt Disney World Haunted Mansion in 2011 ("In the swamp, poor Sally Slater / Was eaten by an alligator"), and was probably already hinting that this was the name of the Tightrope Walker, although some fans had initially assumed "Sally Slater" was a different character.
She is voiced by Hynden Walch.
In the first wave of comics, her name was Daisy de la Cruz; in this version, she was, against all odds, actually the villain, while the alligator was the victim, as she was presented as a nefarious sorceress who'd turn her lovers into alligators. Her role in the Marvel comics is yet to be seen.
Disney Parks Meet'n'Greet Edit
On a few occasions, the Tightrope Walker character was impersonated by a cast members who would wander through Disneyland, talking with visitors. In those appearances, the name of "Daisy de la Cruz" was taken from her comic incarnation, even though the "witch" backstory was not referenced by the character.
Fan fiction and theoriesEdit
Sometimes paired with Master Gracey, the Tightrope Walker has been dubbed "Miss Lilly" by fans; though no one can trace this name's history, she is also said to have "O'Malley" for a family name, although she is also rumored in other fan fictions to be a member of the Gracey family. The Ghost Gallery's version is that she was Lillian O'Malley, and married Master George Gracey.
